The Montessori School of Durham is an AMS-accredited, non-profit school in beautiful Durham, North Carolina. Established in 1976, MSD seeks an experienced Montessori Early Childhood Teacher to establish a new classroom for the 2025-26 school year. This full-time academic year position starts August 11, 2025. Hours are Monday – Friday, 7:50 - 3:30 p.m.

Candidates must have a Montessori Early Childhood credential (AMS or AMI) from a MACTE-accredited training program and three years experience as a Montessori Lead Teacher in an Early Childhood classroom. A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood education or a related field is preferred, but not required. Qualified candidates will have a passion for working with children and their families; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; and will be committed to life-long learning, and demonstrate a growth mindset. Minimum Base Salary = $57,200

Benefits include 100% paid employee medical, dental, vision, EAP, and long-term disability(additional cost for dependents).  Immediate contribution to 403(b) plan with a school contribution after 1 year.  14 discretionary days per year.

Candidates should possess the physical ability to sit on the floor, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel and lift up to 60 pounds. References and a criminal background check are required.
